This optional auto policy coverage is perhaps the most misunderstood item on any auto policy.
It does NOT have anything to do with your car or truck.
It DOES have to do with injuries in your car or truck caused by an uninsured driver.
If you or your passengers are hurt you expect the other at-fault driver (their insurance policy) to cover your injuries.
But what if they have NO insurance - an uninsured driver?
That is where your own policy and uninsured motorist kicks in. But remember, it has nothing to do with your vehicle. It has everything to do with "injuries" inside your vehicle.
